Rangers defeat Panthers in thrilling overtime
Barclay Goodrow's goal lifts New York to victory
The New York Rangers defeated the Florida Panthers 3-2 in overtime in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals on Tuesday night. Barclay Goodrow scored the winning goal at 14:01 of overtime, giving the Rangers a 2-0 lead in the series.
The Panthers took an early lead in the game when Aleksander Barkov scored a power-play goal at 7:54 of the first period. The Rangers tied the game in the second period on a goal by Artemi Panarin, and they took the lead in the third period on a goal by Chris Kreider. However, the Panthers tied the game again with just over a minute remaining in regulation on a goal by Sam Reinhart.
The game went to overtime, and the Rangers eventually won on Goodrow's goal. Igor Shesterkin made 37 saves for the Rangers, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 35 saves for the Panthers.
The Rangers will now have a chance to take a 3-0 lead in the series when they host the Panthers in Game 3 on Thursday night.
